Equipment
Repair Questions
Pieces of equipment that belongs to a particular lab are usually the responsibility of that lab. It is good practice to write the purchase order number with which the equipment was purchased on the piece of equipment, this will help facilitate warranty repairs. Complicated pieces of lab equipment are often repaired through the original manufacturer (PCR machines, confoucal microscopes etc . . .), small pieces of equipment may be repaired with a general repair service. These are outside companies who will repair the kind of equipment you generally find in a lab, shakers, microfuges, small incubators etc . . . Two companies who often work at Stanford are Morrow and Alt-air. Morrow can be reached at http://www.morrowservice.com/, and (877) 667-7697.
